Biography of LINNK Yaniv Illouz and Essom Jweinat have converged on an ecclectic yet refreshing style of music that is rich and unique. Essom Jweinat’s grandfather once told him “Music is the language of the world.” Essom, an Arabic American, was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. His love of music was evident at a young age. He taught himself how to play multiple instruments. Starting at the age of eight, Essoms uncle gave him an old, red beat up fender guitar. Not knowing how to even play a note, he began emulating songs that he heard on the radio. After witnessing Essom’s natural born talents, his uncle decided to throw a drum set and piano into the mix, and from there the rest was history. Essom has performed in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Oregon and Sacramento. He was an opening act for Nsync , at The House of Blues in Los Angeles in 2003. He has produced and wrote songs for many artists and himself, but it was only until a friendship was made by mutual friends that introduced Essom to his best friend, and music partner Yaniv Illouz. Yaniv Illouz was born in Israel, and was raised in San Mateo, California. His love for music was evident at a young age. He was always involved in his school’s music programs, and was part of the chorus through his community. Wherever Yaniv was, so was a pad of paper and pencil, which he used to express his outlook on life through the melodies in his mind. The connection between Yaniv and Essom was apparent from the moment they were introduced. The first time Yaniv and Essom met, Essom invited him over to his home studio, and had Yaniv listen to his latest track. Yaniv immediately came up with an idea that would accompany the track, and shared his idea. That would be the start of their 14 year friendship, and the beginning of LINNK. LINNK has written, produced and sung on numerous tracks of their own and other artists. Their lyrics are formulated from real life personal experiences, or from those they cross paths with. “Most times we sit in the studio, we create a track, and we’ll start coming up with melodies to match the track. Finally, we record and mix it, all in one night’s session” Their ongoing pursuit for the right sounds and lyrics, has kept them constantly motivated, and busy on the search for that next hit. The final piece of the puzzle was complete when they were introduced to Twin Towers Management, a publishing and artist management company that has opened the door for new opportunities.
